This policy covers this website only — carelinkwellness.ca and the pages on it.
The CareLink Wellness service itself — the Wellness Companion, the wearable, the family app, and anything a Care Coordinator does on your behalf — is governed by a separate privacy agreement provided to you at enrollment, before any health information is collected. Nothing on this website enrolls you in that service.
Who we are
CareLink Wellness is a brand owned and operated by Pulse Connect, a company based in Ontario, Canada. Pulse Connect is accountable for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy is written to meet Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Because our service handles health information about people in Ontario, the service agreement referenced above is additionally written to Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). This website does not collect health information.
What this website collects
Nothing you type
This website has no forms, no sign-up, no login, and no accounts. There is nowhere on this site to submit your name, your email address, or any information about you or the person you care for. We cannot collect what we never ask for.
Standard server logs
Our hosting provider automatically records a technical log entry each time a page is requested. A log entry contains your IP address, your browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page if there was one, and the date and time. These logs exist to keep the site online and secure — to diagnose errors and identify abuse. They are not linked to you as an individual, are not combined with any other source of information, and are not used for marketing.
One preference stored on your own device
If you switch the layout of one interactive section on the home page, your browser remembers that choice using local storage, under the key clw-emo-layout. This value never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
No cookies and no trackers
This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party tracking scripts of any kind. We do not build profiles of visitors, we do not track you across other websites, and we have no ability to retarget you with advertising based on your visit here.
Third parties involved in running this site
Two service providers are unavoidably involved in delivering these pages to you:
- Vercel hosts this website and generates the server logs described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typeface this site is set in. Because the font files are requested from Google’s servers (
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com), your IP address is disclosed to Google when a page loads. We receive nothing back from Google, and we have no access to whatever Google records. This is the only third party your browser contacts on our behalf.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information to anyone, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing purposes.
If you contact us
If you call the number on this site or write to our email address, we will have whatever you choose to tell us — your name, your phone number or email address, and the reason you got in touch. We use that only to answer you and to follow up if you have asked us to.
Please do not send detailed medical or health information by email. Ordinary email is not a secure channel. If a conversation needs to cover health details, we will move it to a phone call or to a secure channel and tell you so.
We keep contact correspondence only as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and to meet our record-keeping obligations, and then we delete it.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how it has been used and who it has been disclosed to.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual limits, at any time.
- Complain about how we have handled your information.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is intended for adults — older adults, their families, and the professionals who care for them. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18 through this site.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Because the site collects nothing you submit, the practical privacy risk of visiting it is limited to the server logs and the Google Fonts request described above.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be summarised here so you can see what moved.
